Traditional Margarita on the Rocks
Have I told you lately that I love a margarita? I REALLY love a margarita. This one is simple, tart, and an absolute fundamental in my cocktail ouvre. It reminds me of being in Zihuatanejo, ordering drinks from the swim-up bar. Welcome to my happy place. Food pairing: Low-Carb Tortilla Chips with Guacamole
Ingredients
- 1½ oz. blanco tequila
- ½ oz. sugar-free triple sec or orange syrup or you can make your own
- 1 oz. lime juice
Instructions
- If you want a salt rim, rub some lime juice around the rim of your glass, then dip it in a plate of salt. I like a Tajín rim to give it a bit of spice!
- Put all of the ingredients in your shaker with ice and give it a good shake.
- Strain it into a margarita glass.
- Garnish with a wedge or wheel of lime.
