Sugar-Free Simple Syrup

Kerry Grant
I’ve tried making sugar-free simple syrup with several kinds of sweetener and for me, Allulose works best. It tastes great and doesn’t re-crystallize after it cools down. I double or triple this recipe, especially when I’m making other lower-carb ingredients like coffee liqueur, which take cups and cups of the stuff.
Sure, you can buy your own sugar-free simple syrup. If you want to make your own, I find this one works really well and it’s SO easy.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated Allulose
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/8 tsp xanthan gum (optional, to thicken the syrup slightly)

Instructions

  • Put the water and Allulose in a pot and put the pot over medium heat.
  • Whisk the mixture to dissolve the Allulose, and let it come to a simmer.
  • When you have the simmer, lightly sprinkle the xanthan gum into the pot and whisk, whisk, whisk until it’s dissolved and there are no lumps.
  • Let the syrup cool, then put it in a glass jar and refrigerate. Well done, you!
