I suppose it’s the sweet-spice bitters and spiced rum that remind me of the holidays when I drink this punch. You can substitute spiced rum with just about any other kind of rum and play with the bitters, but together they sing a jaunty carol for me. And don’t limit yourself to the winter holidays; this punch is fabulous year-round. 
For a party, multiply the recipe as much as you need to and stir the first five ingredients together beforehand. Then all you need to do is add the ginger beer as you go or dump it all in a punchbowl to support your festive evening.

  • 3 oz. spiced rum
  • 1 oz. lime juice
  • 2 tsp. Swerve confectioners' sweetener
  • 4 oz. water
  • ¼ tsp. Angostura bitters
  • 3 oz. sugar-free ginger beer, or to taste


  • Add the rum, lime juice, sweetener, water, and bitters to a tall glass and stir until the sweetener dissolves.  
  • Add ice to your glass, leaving room for the ginger beer. Stir again to dilute the mixture slightly. 
  • Top with ginger beer and stir.  
  • Garnish with fresh cranberries and/or orange or lime slices. 


I find that the powdered Swerve dissolves very well, but if you want to try a liquid sweetener or some other granulated sweetener, have at it!
